COVID-19 School Guidance Checklist

COVID-19 Prevention Program (CPP)

Dear Parents,

I am honored by the opportunity to join the Alice Shaw Elementary community this school year as your Principal.  We are seemingly in a time of transition in many aspects of our lives and in anticipation of what is to come in the future it is only appropriate that we pause to assess our progress as well as potential next steps in best serving you, our students and families.

I would like to thank you for your support, patience, and understanding as we, as a learning community, respond to the unexpected pandemic that forced us to go through a new and challenging teaching and learning phase. I am proud of the way our teachers, staff, students and parents have handled the demands and challenges we are facing.  We continue to strive to keep everyone safe and to educate our students during such a critical time.

It is my mission to motivate, encourage, and support each and every member of our school community towards a place of continual excellence as students, families, staff community partners, and lifelong learners at Alice Shaw Elementary School. The circumstances we are in now does not change the fact that together we can, and will, provide our children the best educational experience possible at Alice Shaw Elementary School and will do so as a united community.

I want you to know that I, along with all of the Alice Shaw teachers and staff miss you and your children very much. I look forward to the time when we can reunite, in person, as a school community. In the meantime we will continue the work of serving our students and families.

Best,

Helena Avedikian

Principal

Alice Shaw Elementary
